What’s more cliché than falling for a guy in a band?

A no-strings fling is all it was meant to be for Gracyn George. Sun, sand, sex, and then move on. That was before he strummed his way into her life. Each note leaving a tingle in her spine, their lasting melodies burned into her memory.

What’s more cliché than pining for the one who got away?

Gavin Keller has sacrificed far too much to chase after the girl who snuck out in the middle of the night and left him wondering, What if …

No matter how high his star rises or how many sold-out shows he plays, he ends each concert scanning the audience for her.

What was supposed to be temporary becomes a longing neither is willing to let go. After months of trying to move on, can they sync the tunes in their hearts?

My Review

Oh, what an interesting story and what interesting characters! K. C. Enders does a great job portraying the conflicts and underlying the personalities. I loved every page, even if the beginning was not so much to my liking.

First of all, let me remark how the names of the main characters seem to complement each other. Gavin and Gracyn are exactly what the other needs. Gracyn whishes a bit more freedom from all the expectations her family has, freedom from all the appearances they have to maintain. Gavin has the perfect parents. They support his dream and even encourage him to follow it.

The beginning was not necessarily my favorite part and it was not very believable. It’s visible Gracyn is less under her family’s influence, but the constant chase between them made me a little tired. But lucky for me, I didn’t give up, because what followed, blew my mind. They fall apart at some point and the way they come back together is emotional and very well realized. How they both opened their worlds to each other, the determination they put into transforming what they have into a functional relationship is fantastic!

Two other things did not convince me much – the cover (I am sorry, I don’t like it… I like my guys with a haircut; I understand the idea, but not like it) and the other band members. We get an insight into one of the guys, the good one, but the others… I still need to check their respective stories to understand them.

All in all, I did like “Tunes”. I know I have complained a lot about small things, but the story is interesting and we have two characters coming from different worlds and trying to make a relationship work. A short fling becomes more. I like that J 4 out of 5 stars.

After losing her job, her home, and her friends in her divorce, Nora Pitts is determined not to make the same mistakes when she starts over in the small town of Shadow Creek, Washington. No more toiling away in the lab at the expense of her social life, and definitely no more men. Ever.  But making friends in her thirties is so much harder than she anticipated. And when it comes to her gorgeous yet obnoxious neighbor, it’s a whole lot easier to make enemies.

Eli Hardin doesn’t have a lot of sympathy for his uptight neighbor, until he overhears her so-called new friends making fun of her un-datable status. Suddenly he finds himself volunteering for a date with a woman who’s been leaving angry hate-notes in his mailbox, and in way over his head. Because all it takes is one disastrous date with Nora for Eli to fall hard.

But falling for Eli isn’t something Nora’s ready for—not when he’s her complete opposite, and especially not when he turns out to be the best friend she’s made in Shadow Creek. But as her attraction and her feelings for Eli grow hotter, resisting him might just lead to heartbreak anyway.

My Review

Ok, let me tell you two important things about this book: it’s funny and it’s amazing. A summary of this review: 5 stars. Now you have more time to go and buy it, but feel free to spend another 5 minutes going through my reasons.

As I mentioned, this was such a beautiful story! Every page made me laugh, one more than the other. I loved the main characters and I must admit I find myself in Nora a little, as I am weird in my own way. It all starts with Eli trying to teach Nora’s so called friends and book club partners a lesson by going out with her. Little did they expect to feel comfortable with each other. Now, because they both have their own… quirks, this relationship may seem not ok. But chemistry plays an important role. I mean, real chemistry and the other kind as well.

Eli is a gentleman. He is kind, he is strong and smart and so funny! He has his own things to deal with, no room for romance at all. Even if his mind is anywhere but into a relationship, he finds himself very attracted to his neighbor. Nora is determined to turn her career around and her life as well. Forced to start over in a new town, she wants to be accepted and to feel like home again. Correction: she wants to be accepted by anyone but her loud neighbor, with ugly taste in music and no respect for the quiet hours. But together, they are so great! I cannot even stop saying that!

The writing was beyond any expectation. It was delicious, if I can characterize it like that. I enjoyed every page and this kept me reading along nonstop. I have so many quotes marked and so many paragraphs that made me laugh.

All in all, it has been a real pleasure reading “Make Me Fall”. I loved it so so much and I am so happy I have another favorite author! I cannot wait to read more of her books! Please try it and you will not be disappointed!

Justin caught Maddy in his arms just as she turned to head back to their table. “Not so fast,” he said. “May I have this dance?”

Her cheeks were flushed from the exercise, and her eyes glowed like candles again. “Absolutely.”

He pulled her close. So close he could smell the shampoo she’d used on her hair. She moved her hands up and down his biceps before settling them lightly on his shoulders. He gripped her hips, loving how they swayed back and forth beneath his touch.

Everything felt so good that half the song passed before he spoke again. “You looked great out here,” he murmured into her hair.

She tipped her head back. “I told you I love to dance.”

He moved his hands from her hips to her lower back so that she was pressed even tighter against him. Then he whispered in her ear, “You did not tell me, however, how sexy you look while doing it.” Bizarrely, on their own, his lips traveled down and pressed a kiss to the skin beneath her earlobe.

What the hell was he doing? He was never into PDA. Occasionally, he’d put his arm around a woman or give her a teasing kiss on the cheek—the kind that came with a smacking sound effect. He didn’t even usually hold hands.

But here he was, in public, with his mouth on Maddy’s skin. And it wasn’t a dry peck either. His lips wanted to explore. His tongue was dying to taste her. Briefly, he let it.

She shivered against him, moved her own hands higher so they were locked around his neck. “Some things you just have to find out for yourself.”

The words were a throaty chuckle, said with the cadence of a confident woman. He went hard as a rock.

Pressed so tightly against him, she could hardly fail to notice. Would she pull away, deflect, pretend they weren’t rubbing against each other as much as physically possible in public?

She didn’t. In fact, she did something between a whisper and a moan, stood on her toes, and kissed his throat.

Jesus. “When this song ends, you’re going to have to shield me as we walk back to our table.” His voice was a desperate laugh. “You’ve put me in a … complicated position.”

She squirmed against him, making it worse. “Really?” she said innocently, arching an eyebrow. “This position seems fairly simple to me.” She laughed, low in her throat. “I’m guessing you know positions that are a lot more complicated.”

“Your mother’s opiates are coming from Jose Herrera’s distribution network.” My pulse races as my stepfather speaks these words. Because taking on the Herreras also means taking on Diego.

Reckless, and hardened by a volatile past, Victoria does not see a future with Diego Herrera as a realistic option. As their childhood friendship ignites, they find themselves on opposite sides of a bloody feud between the two most powerful families in Mexico City. And she’s a Moreno now—brought up to be the secret weapon nobody suspected.

But Victoria can’t deny the attraction. Diego’s commanding muscles, the coarse, dark hair of his solid chest, that rugged scar above his sensuous lips…

Loyalty is in the eye of the beholder.

My Review

This book has very little over 120 pages and it has an action to die for! And… it almost happens, I mean, not you …. But people, I mean characters. OK, I’ll shut up know!

Really now, for a short book, it has some crazy events happening that will keep the reader hooked on page turning. It happened to me at least. There is some (SOME!) tension between the main characters, they want to be together but they can’t because their families won’t allow it. However they constantly fight for or towards each other and they hang to their feelings to be able to trust one another.

I loved the amount of detail we have in “Hard Trigger” and I liked the characters. The author built their background really well and managed to create strong personalities. Victoria is one badass woman. Her courage is matched only by the feelings she has for Diego and those feelings could burn cities. I loved them both!

The only thing I would complain is that too much of the story is told and not lived in the book while we read it. I wanted a bigger book, one that could capture more of their childhood and more of the conflict between the families. I wanted the inside scoop on one of the most feared family in Mexico. I wanted a tiny bit more!

But that does not mean this book is not worth your time! It’s one incredible story that will make you a prisoner of its covers. It is my first book by S. L. Hannah and definitely it will not be my last, for she has a lot of talent with words. 4 put of 5 stars!

My Review

As usual, I started with the second book in the story. I have not finished “Playing her Pauses” yet, but I did read “Tie Me down” completely. It took some time to understand the background, but at some point I focused only on the current story. The first thing I noticed was the friendly tone the author has used in the conversations. Even from the start, from the first scene, I got the impression my best friends were talking about things that happened to them. And this made me easily fall into the plot.

Kate and Danny are now into a relationship, with all things considered. They have an intense intimate life, they have feelings for each other, but now they have to face an enemy which is dangerous and hard to accept sometimes: distance. Being always on the road, they have little time to spend together physically, but more time to talk, to discover parts of the other that they did not know. But most importantly, they have time to understand what they want, what they need from the partner.

The characters are mature and more about their story is included in “Playing Her Pauses”, but from what I could figure out, he is into the strong stuff, when it comes to intimate relations and she is still figuring it all out. However, the way they talk to each other, the way they behave when apart and together, lets us know how deep their feelings are. They face new roadblocks and challenges, let’s see if they make it out all right.

I liked it, I liked the writing and the feeling of comfort it gave me while reading it. However, I must admit I wanted a bit more complicated, a bit more drama. Probably because of the short length and more because I have not finished yet “Playing Her Pauses”, I craved for something more. I can’t wait to go through the other books in the series and I’m happy to have discovered another great author J

My Review

This was such a great read, with hot scenes, with funny moments, with smart characters. It is a very quick read, not only because of the length, but also because it is very easy to absorb the story and appreciate the characters.

Everything starts with a bump. More or less… and a spilled yogurt that cased a sexy dress, that affected the guy whose car got hit. Ok, you get the point from the blurb! She hits him, they feel the attraction, they have a one night stand (or so they say) which is also a base for a beautiful friendship. He wants to get back with his ex, she wants to attract her boss’ attention. So they both are not available. They are just friends with an awesome benefit.

I know you may have heard the story before, but the way the friendship between them grows is beautifully presented and that one night spent in a cheap hotel allows them to know each other and know parts of themselves that even they did not know. They are free of limitations, inhibitions and rules. They start to build something based on honesty and mutual help. I liked that very much! No character is too bitchy or too jealous, but they are intense in … some moments, if you get what I mean!

Suffice to say that this first book in the “Tracy Brothers” series is fabulous and I cannot wait to read the next story!5 out of 5 stars!  I loved the writing, I loved the characters and I loved the plot! Check it out 🙂

My Review

Oh my God, you cannot even imagine how much I liked this book! I liked the characters, the story, I liked the writing, I liked how the action is fitted perfectly in the dimensions. I liked everything!

Sophie has had a major crush on her boss. But she knows very well that the success of their business relationship is due to its professional aspect.  She is not willing to cross this line, especially since he often changes partners. But one evening she accompanies him at an official event and things get out of control. Problem is that after the deed is done (if you get what I mean), they cannot go back to how things were. Add to that a little amnesia (really, a real amnesia) and the story gets more interesting and more intense.

Let me tell you, the characters are really really good. You don’t see that jealous secret lover who envies every other woman that comes next to her man. No, you see a mature Sophie, looking to secure her independence, but more from an emotional point of view. She is not looking for “complicated”. She just wants a beautiful relationship, as any woman. King is a business man and he needs the success to prove to his father that he is no longer needed, that his influence has not touched him or his brother. He knows that it’s better for him to keep Sophie close from a professional point of view. Who cares about flings and one night stands? Well, we shall see….

Besides the fire burning between our main characters, we have a great relationship between brothers. While King deals with his amnesia, his brother is there to take control. When one is down, the other is there to pick him up. If one is in a hurry to close the deal, the other takes his time to analyze. I liked it. I liked how the author spent time developing the brothers, not only the couple.

So after my first encounter with Nina Crespo, I can tell you that I loved her book and her writing! You will not be disappointed at all! An interesting love story, a quick read, perfect for an evening of dreaming. Enjoy J
