The kind of wild that comes with wanting your best friend’s little sister and knowing you can’t have her.
Forbes may have labeled Ford Grant the World’s Hottest Billionaire, but all he cares about is escaping the press and opening a recording studio in gorgeous small town Rose Hill. Something that comes to a screeching halt when he ends up face-to-face with a young girl who claims he’s her biological father. Now, he spends his days balancing business with parenting a sullen twelve-year-old, all while trying desperately to keep his hands the hell off his best friend’s sister, Rosie Belmont.
After living in the city, Rosie came blasting back into town like a storm. Beautiful, messy, and chaotic. And one wide-eyed, desperate plea for a job is all it takes for Ford to hire her. He vows to keep her at arm’s length. Tries to stick to scowls and grumpy one-liners. But with her, verbal sparring is a type of foreplay―friction that soon turns to blistering heat.
Ford knows damn well he shouldn’t cross this line. But shouldn’t and can’t are two very different things.
And the only thing he truly can’t do is resist her.

Introduction
You know what’s the best part of being in a book club? You get to read all those books you set aside for next time, because you’re prioritizing something else. This is how I finally managed to read this beautiful story.
Ford Grant, the World’s Hottest Billionaire, returns to his hometown to open a recording studio. He leaves behind his big city life for the peace and quiet that can only be found home, in Rose Hill. Still, his plans take a different turn when a young girl, who insists she’s his daughter, asks for his help. To further complicate things, Rosie Belmont, his best friend’s little sister, returns home, running away from something she’s not willing to disclose. Ford and Rosie will get back into their comfortable teasing, but soon this will not be enough.
My Thoughts
I have tried to find flaws in Ford’s character, but I came up empty handed. He is a very good friend, a devoted lover, and a shy father. He does everything right. He has such natural reactions to his daughter, and they make him so real. To me, Ford is one of the most complex characters I’ve recently discovered in small town romance books. We see him as a businessman, as a friend, father, lover and he excels in all. I love how he comes to appreciate bowling nights and time spent with his family.
Rosie Belmont has had to leave her job under very ugly circumstances. Her confidence in her professional skills is shattered and she finds no comfort in her boyfriend. Her return home is the start of a healing process, her time to figure out her next steps. She finds in ford the strength to carry on, the courage to open her heart and eyes to a love that has always been there.
Another important character is Ford’s daughter Cora. She is such an adorable girl and so much like Ford. She’s both vulnerable and strong, but more shy than bold. Life and responsibilities have taught her to be more mature than her age. She is analyzed in the book as a daughter who has recently discovered her biological father, a teenager dealing with teenage issues and a child forced to deal with more adult problems than enjoying her childhood.
I could write an entire article only around the themes in this book. The author brought so many situations together in a beautiful and cohesive blend. The unprofessional behavior that Rosie has had to deal with, how the loss of a parent affects the family, finding the courage to seek help, all these themes are analyzed from all perspectives. The awkwardness of having a daughter, combining family life, love and a start-up business are Ford’s struggles, while Rosie tries to rebuild her life, the trust in herself as a woman and a professional.
Elsie Silver is brilliant. This book seems effortless, just a romance between childhood frenemies. But this is so, so much more. The writing is beautiful, the story is structured perfectly, and I love how there are no unnecessary complications. She has given depth to each character, and I am in awe of her qualities.
I’ve learned a thing or two from this book. Same as Ford, I am trapped between duties, and I may need time for myself (although you’ll never hear me admit this out loud). The importance of balance shines through the pages. Having the courage to start again, to reinvent oneself professionally is something that I struggle with. Having a lot to learn and a lot to study in this book – these two things made me appreciate Elsie Silver’s creative skills (too simple words though).
Cover Review: I love the cover. It has the elements central to the story: a view of the town, the journal with its lock and the recording studio. Did it need so much pink? Maybe not. Is pink mentioned in the story? Yes! I love it !
Suffice to say that I enjoyed “Wild Love” so much! I cannot wait to start book 2. I have easily become an Elsie Silver fan and I say this with all confidence: she is more than just a writer, more than a storyteller. Her introspection in human character is amazing. Thank you for this book and may many more come!

Let me know in the comments what is your favorite book by Elise Silver and if there are books of hers you have yet to read. Until next time, happy reading!
