Introduction

If you have not read yet a book by Piper Rayne, this is your sign to do it. They have so many amazing stories and so many amazing characters! I have binge-read the “Hockey Hotties” series, and that was a delight, but I was wondering why Tweetie’s story was not included. He and his partner appear in all books, but we don’t get their full story. Well, “Mr. Charming” links the “Hockey Hotties” with “The Nest”. You don’t have to read the other books in either of the series, but you’d get the full experience if you did, as the couples in the other books make their appearance at one or more points the story.

My Thoughts

Tedi and Tweetie have had a long and complicated past, and when opportunity arises for him to have her close, he is not willing to let her go again. Tedi is assigned to manage the club’s social media, which is why she has to travel to Chicago, close to the love of her life. In her attempt to keep him at bay, she fakes a relationship. However, things don’t always turn out as we want them.

All of Piper Rayne’s books are the ideal sports romances. There is sport, events, team spirit, friendship, and a plot to wrap them all up in a beautiful package. Tedi’s new responsibility is to manage the Falcons’ social media account. This job brings her close to her ex and the love of her life: Tweetie. To his closest group of friends, Tedi is known as “the one who got away”, since their relationship did not survive the long-distance. He is determined to win her back, but she’s afraid they will not be able to move past their mistakes. They have a lot of emotions to sort out and their mature personalities will allow this to happen.

I love a book with a plot besides the romance main one. Seeing Tedi navigate the requests from the team manager, trying to keep her personal life away, was as intense as her dealing with her feelings. Tweetie may not have a contract at the end of the season, even if he is one of the best and popular players from the team. His past struggles come back, but he is better prepared now.

The writing is beautiful, emotional and funny. We get flashbacks throughout their journal entries, which show how their lives have changed after Tweetie leaves the Florida Fury. and how they ended up apart. The importance of journaling is shown in a subtle way, as a form of therapy. If you select the audiobook, you’ll be in for a surprise. There’s a full cast of narrators and all do such a wonderful job! Really, this book was amazing regardless of the way you turn it.

Cover Review: The cover follows the theme of the other books in the series. They represent the writing style in a way, light-hearted and fun. Tweettie’s number on the jersey is a nice touch.

Conclusion

This is yet another amazing story by this incredibly talented duo. Piper Rayne’s “Mr. Charming” is a beautiful end to the series. I’m sad to see it completed, but it was such a beautiful way to wrap up “The Nest” and “Hockey Hotties”. I loved it! I am a fan!
