Happy June! I hope you’re starting the week with positive vibes and full of energy!

I am leaving behind a month of May that has given me challenges in all aspects. The bookish ones have been the most fulfilling and I am hopeful they will continue in June as well.

An Amazing May

I have started a collaboration with the team behind one of the most downloaded apps for self-learning. I’ve been writing articles for them and I’ve enjoyed every single book review so far. It has been a challenge to follow a more elevated structure and I am learning with each title I analyze.

A small publisher gave me the opportunity to become an intern editor. It is such an amazing achievement! I’ve been learning a lot on my own and I am so excited to put all this knowledge into practice.

Several authors have trusted me to beta read their stories. They have been the most amazing people to work with. My beta feedback has become more editorial, since I do want to get as much practice as possible.

I have been accepted as a beta reader for one of the most important teams out there (Independent Book Review) and I am so excited to work with them. So far, I’m working on one title and it’s quite an interesting story.

As part of our monthly book club meeting with The Fables Club, I’ve had the amazing opportunity to meet Rachel Fallon, author of ‘Of Darkness and Ruination’. I will write separately my thoughts on this experience, but just to give you a spoiler: It was a great discussion! I am so excited for the next meeting!

I have a million plans and ideas and all involve me learning more about the industry and polishing my skills. What May has taught me is that I need to dedicate more time to this beautiful community and more time to my articles. Implementing quality over quantity has been an important lesson as well.

Exciting Reading Plans for June

And with those takeaways in mind, I start June with a fresh perspective, being a better advocate for the bookish community. I do have a list of books to read, most from the same publisher and some indie authors, but as usual I am trying to read more than what I plan:

  • Questioning Fate by J. N. Stein
  • Of Light and Freedom by Rachel Fallon
  • Stormvalor by Starr Z. Davies
  • Look Before You Leap by Virginia Heath
  • A Most Unlikely Lady by Darcy McGuire
  • Too Hard to Resist by Olivia Spring
  • Breaking His Law by VH Nicolson
  • The Puck Stops Here by Rachael Stewart
  • To Catch a Lord by Emma Orchard

Let’s not forget the book club reads for One More Chapter (hopefully I will get to as many as possible):

  • Quicksilver by Callie Hart
  • Hooked by Emily McIntire
  • The Pucking Wrong Number by C.R. Jane
  • Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree
  • Silver Elite by Dani Francis
  • Shield of Sparrows by Devney Perry

Last, but not least, the book club pick for June for That Indie Book Club: Say You’ll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez.

Let me know in the comments if you are familiar with any of these titles and tell me what makes this month exciting for you. Any reading plans?

I hope the new season will bring you amazing stories, real or fictive. Remember to read and love a lot!
