(The Guardian Series #1)
Publication date: June 12th 2015
Genres: Paranormal, Young Adult
All that Celeste Wilder ever wanted was to find someone who would sweep her off her feet like she had seen in countless romantic movies. When she meets the gorgeous and mysterious Constantin brothers her senior year of high school, she gets much more than what she had bargained for. As they introduce her to an exciting supernatural world that she never imagined existed, she makes a startling discovery about her own family legacy and is forced to make a decision that will change her life forever.
Oh yes, that I like! A new story about vampires and hunters! I would very much like to finish reading the series. First book was very much to my taste, even though I would have wanted just a little bit more.
I love the two vampire brothers. Nico was the delight of the book, with his funny lines and his unexpected wisdom. Roman was something else: Strong, mysterious, with his piercing blue eyes, he’s always there for Celeste. He is even willing to give up his feelings for her so she can fulfill her destiny. As for our main character, Celeste is stronger than she leads on in the beginning. I like that she had some hard time accepting her new role and she was willing to seek help. So in short: a great story with some great characters.
There were some items that could have been a little improved, like how Roman decided to protect Celeste and from where their relationship really started. Also, the fact that all combat moves were natural to Celeste simply because she was chosen seemed less believable.
Even with these small details, I really really liked the book and I look forward to finish the series. It is very captivating and the chemistry between the characters is very well illustrated. Funny lines are also there… well, it has a little bit of everything. Enjoy !
