Genre: MC Romance

After one unforgettable night with a dangerous outlaw, Fia knows she must limit contact with the kind of man who could never fit in her wealthy circle. Unfortunately, she can’t keep their brief but passionate encounter far from her thoughts. When she seeks him out for reasons unrelated to their chemistry, the worst happens, and Fia is attacked by a madman. With her life turned upside down, she seeks help from the one person she can’t get out of her mind.

Betrayed by someone he should have been able to trust above all, Acer spends the next two decades of his life avoiding entanglements that have any chance of ending with a knife in his back. The MC life provides a safe way to have personal connections and loyalty due to its simple rule: betray the club and punishment will be severe. Still, he keeps a large part of himself locked away inside, hidden even from his MC brothers. When the woman who’s been messing with his head for months reappears in his life needing sanctuary, Acer jumps to her aid. He’s committed to help her reclaim her life, but determined to keep her at arms-length in the process.

As Acer and Fia fight their growing feelings, his club is in danger from a new and different kind of enemy. Will his refusal to put his full trust in anyone, including the woman he’s falling for, end up destroying more than betrayal ever could?

Lilly Atlas is the contemporary romance author of the award-nominated No Prisoners MC series. She’s a proud Navy wife, mother of two spunky girls, and one crazy pug. Every time Lilly downloads a new EBook, she expects her Kindle to tell her it’s exhausted and beg for some rest. Thankfully that hasn’t happened yet, so she can often be found absorbed in a good book.

What a wonderful audiobook! And I mean the audio was great and the book as well. I enjoyed every chapter of it and i am sorry that I’ve discovered the series starting with book no. 3.

Acer and Fia meet at a fancy party, where both did not seem to enjoy that much. That is until they land their eyes on each other. And the best way to improve a boring night is to have a one night stand, an unforgettable one night stand. We quickly learn that neither of them seems to meet their parents’ expectations. Probably that’s why their attraction is so intense. Well, never mind! In the morning, both will go their separate way. However, Fia finds herself in search for Acer when she finds out his father is out to get him. Tragedy strikes and she will need all the moral support she can get. And the only person she can trust is Acer, her savior.

The most important thing to mention is that this book deals with rape, our main character is a victim, so trigger warning for that. However, the author has presented her situation in a magnificent way.  She had managed to capture Fia’s fears, her trusting issues and her nightmares. Acer finds a way to break her walls and wins her confidence. He will become her strength pillar, all the while being well aware that, when she’ll recover, hen her true explosive self will be back healed, she will get back to her life and family. Also, the hate and desire for revenge are well captured. For me, this entire situation is the center of the story, since the romance is built around it.

Fia and Acer are a match for sure. They are both trying to be independent, to be as far as possible from the life they were born into. Adam Wellington has been betrayed by his own father and as a consequence he has become part of the No Prisoners MC, where he now has a true family, a true brotherhood. Serafina Caldwell is a lingerie designer! Her parents could never associate their name with such an obscene business. So Adam and Serafina become Acer and Fia, perfect for each other.

The narration is great! The way in which both narrators complemented each other was amazing. Erin DeWard has done s great job in expressing Fia’s emotions, her insecurities, her panic attacks, while Noah Michael Levine was the perfect voice for a strong male figure. I would have enjoyed the book just as much, but the audio version is really great.

So i cannot give less than 5 stars for Lilly Atlas’ “Acer”, and even if the ending was a little rushed, I loved it a lot! I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in the “No Prisoners” series!

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Lilly Atlas. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.
