First came A Heavenly Christmas and now we have the riveting sequel, Someone to Love. This book is light on suspense and heavy on romance, and a perfect listen any time of the year!

Allison Cornwall was forced to leave her hometown in Connecticut and live life on the run from an ex-boyfriend turned stalker. She changed her name and hunkered down in Heaven, PA.

The small, idyllic town was a safe haven where no one could find her. And yet, after a year and a half of peace, he did. Police Chief Ian Brown is determined to keep crime out of Heaven. When Ally fears for her life, he’s there to protect. Recently divorced, he’s not looking for love, but this innocent young woman touches his heart. Can they put their pasts behind them and open themselves to the miracle of Christmas, learning once again to trust and to love?

Patrice Wilton knew from the age of twelve that she wanted to write books that would take the reader to faraway places. She was born in Vancouver, Canada, and had a great need to see the world that she had read about.

Patrice became a flight attendant for seventeen years and traveled the world. At the age of forty she sat down to write her first book—in longhand! Her interests include tennis, golf, and writing stories for women of all ages.

She is a mother of two, has four lovely grand-daughters and one grandson, and a wonderful man at her side. They live in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he teaches her golf, and she teaches him patience.

She has twenty-five books published on Amazon, and is a NY Times and USA Today best selling author.

Here we are with “A Heavenly Christmas”, book 2. In “Someone to Love”, our main characters are lonely souls, in need of affection, if I may say so. Their story gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside and that’s why I gave it 4 stars (rounded from 3.5)

Allison Cornwall asks Chief of Police Ian Brown for protection, when she finds a dead animal on her doorstep. Afraid her stocker ex-boyfriend has found her, she decides not to run from her problem and deal with him once and for all. Good for her that she has help this time. Ian, a responsible officer of the law, takes his job to the next level and acts like a bodyguard for young Allison and after spending a night in her home, they form a nice friendship, but also the attraction becomes obvious. What starts as a fling, may become something else.

The characters are well developed and the romance is presented well. The only remark I have is that I would have preferred more information regarding their history. Probably because on the length of the story, I didn’t get the feel of their past, I didn’t feel Allie’s fear for her ex or Ian’s disappointment after the divorce. Through the end, the action felt a little dragged, but it was helpful to understand how she adjusted to life post-hiding. Read the book to find out more J Nothing much to complain in regards to the narration either, though the voice acting was a little confusing at times.

All in all, with all things considered, this book made me feel good. It made me think of the people I love and how important it is to be surrounded by love. So it has completed its purpose. I liked it, hope you liked it too. Enjoy J
