Happy New Year!!!

I hope you’ve started your fist hours in the most magnificent way!  I wish you all the amazing things in life and books! Be strong, be smart and mindful!

There is no better time than now to set up your intentions for this year and to start working toward achieving them. I’ve written down mine and so excited for all!

BOOKISH Resolutions

  1. Write more often: my writing has improved throughout the years and my reading has diversified. I want to share with you my experiences more often and maybe, just maybe, you’ll like my content and stop by frequently for your book recs.
  2. Be more present on social media: Instagram and Threads have become my main social media outlets. Personally, I like Facebook groups a lot more. I plan on making time for all these platforms in 2025.
  3. Interact with the community: I need more bookish friends and with this, I’ve said it all.
  4. Keep my relationships: I blame it on my brain issues, but I am not that good at keeping relationships. I want to change that. I want to improve my relationships and my commitments.
  5. Continue with beta reading: I’ve learned so much in 2024. I know I am a good beta reader and I know I can offer a lot of help to authors and this new year I want to explore it more.
  6. Finish 2 readathons: I have never finished Romanceopoly. I love this readathon and 2025 will be the year I get to finish it. I’m also planning on participating to the Bookopoly readathon. I’m not sure if I will double up the books or not yet. We shall see.
  7. Read and review 120 books: my Goodreads goal which I would like to exceed.
  8. Read and review 4 classic novels: I’m behind on the classic novels. Some I’ve read and forgotten; some are a must read for any book lover. I keep saying I want to do that, 2025 is the year we achieve this. We start small, but we commit and achieve.
  9. Read outside Romance: I’ve done that in 2024 and it was a great decision!
  10. Improve status on other reading platforms (Netgalley, Book Sirens): a must!
  11. Work on the other project: I’ll tell you more about it soon. You’ll like it, I promise!

NON BOOKISH Resolutions

  1. Write more: in 2024, writing has been my outlet, especially toward the end. I love writing, I want to get better at it.
  2. Sew and learn: I speak about sewing a lot. It is my passion and someday maybe more. I have a lot to learn and I can only do so by sewing more.
  3. Reduce the number of unfinished sewing projects: clear, simple, impossible. But it’s an objective…
  4. Grow my sewing business: I’ve invested a lot in sewing tools and fabric and learning and I still plan on investing (especially in the latter). Hopefully there will be some revenue.
  5. Be more active on social media, with my sewing business (3 posts per week): because it’s the easiest way to grow my business.
  6. Write 1 article per week for my sewing business: I have a blog for it, I need to use it.
  7. Start a new blog: I was challenged to start a 3rd one and the plan is to air it this week. I am nervous, it’s outside my writing comfortable zone. But someone has confidence. We will see if it is misplaced or not.
  8. Exercise and meditation: health is important, physical and mental health have not been my priorities. In 2025 I need to do a better job with both.
  9. Drink more water: I survive on coke. My body rarely receives actual water. Apparently, one cannot survive without it. People say it’s important. May as well try it
  10. Work – life balance: toward the end of 2024 I quit on putting so much overtime at the office. They don’t plan on building me a bust in front of the building looks like. I also have a lot of personal things to do (see list above). My office work has consumed me and, in the end, my role is small. I have set up some boundaries and I intend on keeping them up in 2025 as well.
  11. Do more charity: the idea of a sewing business came because I wanted to do more charity. Because I have delayed being 100% committed, I took this as an excuse not to do as much charity work as I would have wanted. There are no excuses this year.

I guess 2024 has been a year of revelations for me. I spent a lot of time thinking about de decisions and little time actually following through. I’m not giving myself this luxury in 2025. And it applies to you as well. You know what you want to do, let’s do it, together!

Have a wonderful year everyone!

Until next time, read a lot!
