Happy first day of 2026
Today, we look to the new year with hope and strength. We make plans, we commit, and we put our best intentions forward. Every time I prepare my reading goals, I put all my energy into staying above the line with all I want to do. Sometimes it works out, other times it does not. It’s the lessons I learn that are important, and showing a little progress 😊
2025 has been generous for my bookish activities:
- an amazing collaboration with Headway
- a volunteer intern position with Editingle
- becoming a beta reader for The Indie Book Review
- meeting so many amazing authors and working with amazing PR companies
- becoming Magazine Content Manager and Part-Time Social Media Manager for a new literary magazine – Wisteria Magz
- taking part in bookish challenges (and failing, but at least we’ve had fun!)
My bookish resolutions for the new year
I’ve learned my limits; I’ve learned what I can do well and what I am not good at. My resolutions are built around those pillars to grow and bring my best to this community. I’ve listed twelve (even if my neurodivergent brain wants to add another 10), which seem to be achievable and ambitious at the same time:
- Be consistent: I’ve defined a rhythm for 2026, that would allow me enough time to bring forward quality content, without feeling rushed or pressured.
- Complete at least two bookish challenges: it was so much fun taking part in one this year, and for 2026 I’m doing two (and will finish them both!). I’ll write about them in an upcoming post, no worries.
- Diversify my content: go beyond book reviews. There is so much more to talk about and my platform can show more sides of the bookish world we all love.
- Read the backlist of some of my favorite authors: I haven’t done a good job of reading their past works and I should start doing that.
- Be more involved in different collaborations: from partnering with fellow book bloggers to being more involved in street teams, I would love to connect and build meaningful relationships.
- Complete my Goodreads goal: still keeping those 120 books per year and silently hoping to exceed it.
- Always have my Goodreads and Storygraph updated: I did such a bad job doing this. I cannot even brag about my little over 100 books read, because I don’t have the “paperwork” to prove it.
- Host more author interviews: I love discussing with authors and going beyond their story. I’m excited to do that more in 2026 (there is an interest form here, should you want to take part)
- Be an excellent judge for the Indie Ink Awards: it’s such an honor being selected, and I want to bring my experience to the event as best as I can.
- Learn more about the industry: understand what the author needs from a book blogger, understand the marketing aspects of the industry, and use them throughout my 2026 bookish journey.
- Read at least one non-fiction book per month: My partnership with Headway made me want to grow more as an individual. I plan on reading more history books, learn about personalities, and discovering more self-growth books.
- Improve my Netgalley rating: I keep saying this for at least a couple of years. My Netgalley sucks (my apologies for the language). There are so many providers on the platform offering amazing ARCs, but my rating needs to be significantly higher to even stand a chance of obtaining them! This will be an adventure indeed!
Lessons learned and wishes
Apart from these ambitious plans, I do want to grow my editing business (head over to Words in Chapters to learn more). I still have a long way ahead, and many projects to finish before diving in. I’ve delayed many of my beta reads or content pulls in December, just to work on the editing side of things. There is some catching up to do and more learning, but I am excited.
If 2025 has taught me something, it is that things don’t always go as planned. I have no personal expectations (excluding book-related ones), but I do wish you all a beautiful new year. May your 2026 be filled with happy moments and dreams accomplished. What is your biggest desire for 2026? Write it in the comments and let’s manifest it together 🙂
Until next time, read and love a lot!
Good Luck with your goals and hoping that 2026 is a successful year for you. X
