My Review:

This is not my first book by Sharon Buchbinder, so when I was provided an ARC for “Legacy of Evil” I knew what I was getting myself into. And that is: another good story. As per usual however, this is my  first book from the series, but I had no issues reading it as a standalone, even if some of the other characters have a background story. So yes, I liked it.

Emma and Bronco are an interesting couple, with more things in common that they may see at first. Since the blurb does not disclose the paranormal item of the story, I’ll try to keep it at a distance as well. But I can tell you is that when someone attacks and kills some of Emma’s best friends – the horses – she decides to take actions into her own hands and find out who is behind it. To her luck (not aid, because she can manage on her own, of course), her brother sends reinforcements. Bronco is one of his best agents, with experience in undercover missions and this comes in handy when they do try to identify the bad guys.

Now, even if they are both stubborn, a connection forms from the beginning, when their animal companions approve of each other. His cat likes her, her dogs like him. They both have a connection with them that goes beyond the normal one. There are some hot scenes in there (and I mean HOT) which are off the top. I liked how the romance element was included.

Now, I did not award 5 stars because there are some items that did not stand well with me. The start was a little slow, in my opinion and they start to like each other pretty fast. With all her stubbornness, she accepts Bronco’s help. And I also did not like the beginning scene, with the drone attack… I don’t know why, the drone in a book with horses and cats looks… out of the picture.

So a total of 3.5 stars to this book, with my congratulations to the author for a great story. I like her writing style and how she combines all elements, even if in this case there were small things that were not to my taste. All in all, I do recommend the series, preferably starting with book 1 J Enjoy
