For those of you who follow me on Twitter, you already know I have a 2 week vacation from work. I’ve bored myself on how many times I wrote about it. Like a wild animal escaping from the zoo. I’ve had a difficult time lately, full if disappointments, so my reaction is understandable.
Any free time I have must be occupied with books, sewing and crocheting because what better way to enjoy some free time than by filling it with the things that give you pleasure?
This was the perfect time for a beach vacation. I had 6 days of sea and sun and I’ve enjoying some amazing books! … books that I’ve started and not finished.
Yup, confessions time. I’ve realized I have over 12 books that were started at some point and never finished. For one or two am I almost half way through (rhyme not intended), for the others I have read the incredible amount of …. a few pages (10-20). My intention is to have the best month ever (and repeating this for the remaining months in the year), so the best way to do that is to clean up my “Currently reading” pile.
Here are the titles that I was planning to catch up with while enjoying the sound of waves:
- The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
- Duke of Sin (Maiden Lane #10) by Elizabeth Hoyt
- Sam’s Theory by Sarah Mendivel
- Dream Me by Kathryn Berla
- The Mind of God by Bevan Frank
These titles were separate from my August TBR. I know it’s kind of ambitious but you’re used to that by now (also used to me not finishing all books on my TBR, but I am trying to change that! I was planning on bringing two more – “Illuminae” and “The City of Lost Fortunes”, but thank God my luggage was only that big because I managed to finish only 2 books and half of my third one. I’m done with “The Great Gatsby” (I know, shame on me for not reading it earlier) and “Duke of Sin” and half way through “Sam’s Theory”. Though, I should finish all these books in the coming week. I also have my August TBR to consider… Darn!
Ok, stop whining and start reading! Let me know what you plan on reading in the coming days or if you have read any of the titles in my list above (reviews will be available soon). Until next time, have a wonderful time 🙂
