Summary

The last thing I want is to share a forty-five minute commute with the most obnoxious (and attractive) man I know. But I can’t afford a new transmission right now, so I’m stuck with Marcus for at least a month.

He promises to be good, but Marcus Greene is never good. And I’m not sure how long I can resist him.

Carpool is the first book in the Milford College series, novellas about the faculty and staff of a small liberal arts college.

My Review

If you are in the mood for something fun, quick, relaxing and with all the sparks and flames of a romance, this is the book for you! In my case, it could not have been a better time to read it and that is why I enjoyed it so much!

Jennifer has lived the life of a small towner. She has known Marcus all her life and has done all in her power to avoid him. He was the bad boy of her childhood, the bully, the perfect example of the man she did not want to have next to her. Adulthood has other plans unfortunately. When Jennifer is forced to ask Marcus for a ride to their workplace, she is surprised by his agreement and realizes she will have to spend a good number of weeks in the same car with the (now) man she must stay away from.

While both characters are amazing, I am inclined to like Marcus more. It is visible he is consumed by Jennifer’s attitude toward him and he gives her the possibility to know his true personality. She is a bit quicker to judge others and is very adamant not to believe in Marcus’ good traits. We have funny moments, we have moments of peace and quiet between them, we have that feeling of something amazing growing up. And I love it!

Noelle Adams did an amazing job developing the characters in such a short number of pages. The action is paced just at the right speed and the relationship glows in such way that we don’t have everything thrown at us in the end. Even if we only get the female perspective, Jennifer is observant enough to see the change in demeanor Marcus has toward her. Still, she is not brilliant enough to piece those changes together. So we do have several conflicts born out of the miscommunication and cluelessness of our female main character. This made me push back a star from my total rating.

All in all, I am going with 4 stars for “Carpool” by Noelle Adams, with additional hearts and love. This story was a great experience and I hope you’ll give it a try as well. Come back with your thoughts in the comments below 😊 Happy reading !

About Noelle Adams

Noelle handwrote her first romance novel in a spiral-bound notebook when she was twelve, and she hasn’t stopped writing since. She has lived in eight different states and currently resides in Virginia, where she reads any book she can get her hands on and offers tribute to a very spoiled cocker spaniel.

She loves travel, art, history, and ice cream. After spending far too many years of her life in graduate school, she has decided to reorient her priorities and focus on writing contemporary romances.
