July Wrap Up & August TBR

4 days into August already! Summer is in full force, though in my city it’s still bearable. The month has started promising. My moods are in control now and one week away from the office seems to be all the treatment I needed to pull myself together.

July has been an ok month. Not a lot of reading was done, but at least I have enjoyed most of the books and I read what I wanted. I still have a lot to catch up, but all in due time.  I started a reading journal and it helps having a view on my activity for the next month. I am not dedicating enough time to it and probably once I will become more organized (and the pile of notebooks increases) I will give it up. But for now, it’s like a means to an end. It also helps me calm down when I do some coloring, though I am not very good at drawing.

In terms of books, I did manage to finish 6 books, 3 already have a review on my blog:

Irina Binder is a Romanian author whose series, “Fluturi”, created a major buzz in the Romanian book community. I can see why now. I will come back to the series in a future post, as I have some guilty thoughts to share.

Catherine Wiltcher’s book was great! I loved every page, I loved the turmoil. I cannot wait to share my review with you all.

August started amazingly well. I haven’t even finished drawing my August page in the journal and already I have 4 books finished (one is a Beta project).  I almost have my TBR lined up and looks like I’m back with the ginormous number of books to read in a month. I have two events I plan to attend and as well I need to catch up on my Romanceopoly board (details here, if you don’t know what this is). But as of now, these are the books I plan to read:

  • Dead Sexy by Lulu M. Sylvian
  • Reflections in the Dark by Carol Koman
  • The Rogue to Ruin by Vivienne Lorret
  • Kings of Mayhem by Penny Dee
  • Brothers in Arms by Penny Dee
  • Biker Baby by Penny Dee
  • Hell on Wheels by Penny Dee
  • The Smuggler’s Escape by Barbara Monajem
  • Screamcathcer: Web World by Chris Harold Stevenson
  • This Earl of Mine by Kate Bateman
  • Knowing Nichelle by Tinsley Sellers
  • How to Love a Duke in Ten Days by Kerrigan Byrne
  • Cold Heart, Warm Cowboy by Caitlin Crews
  • The Duke Is But a Dream by Anna Bennett
  • A Highlander Walks into a Bar by Laura Trentham

I also want to take part in the third round of the FairytaleAThon (August 11th – 18th ) and I have not yet selected my TBR. I have 3 books planed, but I need at least one or two in order to complete the challenges. I’ll get to that in the coming days.

Oh, by the way, the 4 books I finished were not on my TBR 😀 Because that’s just typically me!

On another level, my sewing activities have been on hold for quite a while. I must resume those as well. Since my mind was in pieces, I didn’t want to add more pressure. Slowly, I’ll get back on track in this department as well. Honestly, I have no idea why I had this … meltdown. I’ve struggled to understand the reasons behind it and the only one I could find was tiredness and the pressure I put on myself to be the best at my job (and I didn’t), to be on time with the many books I had each month (and I wasn’t) and to improve my sewing skills (and I didn’t).

Ok, enough about me, tell me about you 😀 How was your month? What are you planning on reading in August and what readathons are you joining? Let me know in the comments below as I would love to now and know you better J Unitl next time, Happy Reading!
