There’s a moment in every reader’s life when the world gets too loud and opening a book slips into the background. For the past few months, I’ve lived inside that noise. Still, like any good story, the pull toward the pages has never disappeared.

Books that mark us

Every time I step back into the literary world, I’m reminded that reading is more than a hobby for me. It has become a form of self‑restoration. In my time as a reader (and book blogger) I’ve learned that stories develop our senses and teach us how to return wiser than before. Right now, I feel like one of those characters that rise with a new kind of clarity.

For the past months, I gravitated toward books that mirrored my emotions, stories about ambition and reinventing one’s self. They reminded me why I started this blog in the first place and what I want to achieve for myself and for you, my fellow book lover.

The power of selective reading

I’ve always believed that reading is an act of curation, because essentially, you’re choosing what deserves space in your mind and what deserves your gift of time. Over the next weeks, I’ll be creating a new experience here on Lilly’s Book World, expanding the range or articles to include more advanced reviews and recommendation lists. Expect a more refined opinion and a renewed commitment to spotlighting books and their authors.

A new chapter for this blog

The blog is stepping into a more defined direction. I’d like to think of it as a literary magazine’s younger sister, unafraid to have opinions. I am excited for what’s to come and to take this experience to the next level. I’ll simply say: I’m here, and I know exactly what I want this space to become. Welcome to the new era😊

Before I close, if you’re an author or simply curious about what happens behind the scenes of a manuscript, you’ll find editing tips and more editorial thoughts on the publishing world on my editor blog. It’s where I share everything I’ve learned while building my editing business – bear with me while I get things organized over there.

Until next time, happy reading!
