In the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, something lethal is on the move.
Scuba divers travel from all over the world to visit the little island of Bonaire, with its crystal-clear waters and a host of beautiful marine life. After three years in the “Diver’s Paradise”, divemaster Boone Fischer thought he’d seen it all; but on a routine afternoon dive, he spots something that will turn his tranquil life upside down.
From the arid shores of the ABC Islands to the tropical jungles of Venezuela—from the ocean depths of the Southern Caribbean, to the lush islands of the Northern Leewards, Deep Shadow takes Boone and the reader on an action-packed adventure filled with danger and suspense.
“The age-old adage of ‘write what you know’ becomes very important when you write about a technical subject like scuba diving. When you get all the details right, and throw in just the right amounts of action, humor, romance, and suspense, you have a novel like this.” – Wayne Stinnett, bestselling author of “Fallen Out”.

What a journey!!! I was so captivated by … everything in this story. I liked the characters, the scenes, the knowledge, the action, the suspense. I liked quite a lot about it. So how could I not give my 5 stars to a book that has kept me reading and reading (well, actually “listening and listening” – it’s getting confusing at one point).
As the blurb says, the action starts when divemaster Boone Fischer finds out that under the waters of this beautiful island of Bonaire, really ugly things happen. Crime lords, drugs and a lot of twists start. He has his partner Emily and together will try and uncover the sea’s mysteries.
I was a fan of the action. The characters are well developed and Boone and Emily form a bond throughout the book, but the plot is absolutely fantastic with a lot of shifts and things you have no way of expecting. The writing is beautiful as well, the descriptions are vivid and the amount of research the author has put into his book is easy to observe.
Since the author is the narrator as well, we have first-hand experience of what he imagined his characters sound like. I like it when authors decide to tell their own book and I feel the experience is more complete in this way. But Nick Sullivan does it very well. He deals well with the accents and differentiating between characters.
Now, without taking too much of your time, please give “Deep Shadow” a try, as it will take you to a journey through the underwater life and it will give you the adventure of a lifetime! I’d like to think that even in our daily lives, we have no way of knowing what exactly in under a serene façade. So this book gives you quite an idea. Enjoy!
I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Nick Sullivan. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

I really like what you said about not ever really knowing what’s going on below the serene facade — it applies on a lot of levels in this book! Great review!
